American Art Deco style refrigerator pitcher with lid, in light grey and daffodil yellow produced by the Hall Ovenware China for General Electric refrigerators around the 1930s - 1940s.
Before plastic Tupperware became popular, and as refrigerators arrived to the American homes, Hall China Co. was producing refrigerator “leftover” dishes, water pitchers and butter containers in ceramic. The Ohio company developed a single fire production method which allowed for a faster process that also prevents crazing on the glaze. A stamp on the bottom reads: General Electric Refrigerators Hall Ovenware China.
