Rare tray to hang with mountain landscape, Basque chalet and elderly couple : woman with traditional Basque shawl and pie, man with french beret and pipe, both carrying an umbrella. Painting on wood, remarkable composition. Wings of the tray with art deco fruit motifs. Work from the 20s / 40s.
This rustic piece at first sight retains have a great modernity thanks to its Art Deco borrowings and its refined composition almost reminiscent of a comic book bubble. It is an ideal addition for most interiors - mountain, in particular - it will give a touch of class and europeanness to rustic / country interiors and a touch of authenticity to modern interiors.
