Chinese landscape scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a shimmering sky blue and baby blue, floral … Read more Chinese landscape scroll, freely drawn colored inks on heavy paper, mounted on a shimmering sky blue and baby blue, floral silk brocade, signed, with three short poems in caoshu script with numerous red seal marks in various shapes and sizes, scattered about the top and bottom of the image. In the left foreground are rocky, bouldered, riverbanks lined with sedges with a small bridge next to a riverside residence. The riverbanks support a grove of leafy trees, pines, shrubs and grasses that lead to a forest on the right side surrounding a mountain village nestled amid forested promontories dotted with sparse habitat that reach into the heavens and fade into distance in traditional Chinese aerial perspective. The image size is 25 3/4" wide x 50 3/8" high. With a dark silk hanging cord and storage cord at the top and black jikusaki at the bottom. The outer scroll covering is a golden colored raw silk. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century. See less
