In the foreground, two river sampans are anchored near a shore of large boulders and gnarled deciduous autumnal trees, across the river, at left mid ground, a fenced compound sits on a plateau above the steep further shoreline amid trees, pines, plantains and shrubs. Palisades and massifs dotted with sparse habitat march off into the distance in traditional Chinese aerial perspective. The image size is 24 7/8" wide x 50 3/8" high. With a dark silk hanging cord and storage cord at the top and black jikusaki at the bottom. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century. See less
