This fabulously bohemian mid-century whatnot/catchall tray set was made in Japan and imported by the Alfred E. Knobler & Co. in the 1950s. Created to function as entertainment snack trays back in the day, I’ve used them as catchall trays over the years. Funky florals and foliates with cool medallions burst forth in an explosion of color that will complement most any design style. In excellent condition as a whole, hand painted surfaces around the edges are worn in spots, which does not detract from the beauty or utility of each tray. Each measures 8¼” x 5” x ¼” W/D/H; together the set weighs 15 oz. Handcrafted from highly lacquered papier-mâché with every color under the rainbow imaginable. These beauties are looking for a great new home, yours perhaps?
