A renowned Piero Benzoni, Italy, historic Battle of Nagashino chess set. Luxe cast bronze Japanese Samurai playing pieces, tallest piece 4”, finely detailed and plated with 24k gold and silver on matching 20” square, 22.5” square with feet, marble board. This particular set is approx. 25 years old, and current new retail is close to $20,000.
Aside from a bent tip finial to one of the rooks, pictured, condition is excellent overall showing light play and minimal and minor wear or looses to the gold and silver plating. A few of the pieces have tears to the felt bottoms.
