Stunning, very cool authentic Bruno Weil’s No.1294 Thonet cow hide upholstered seat and solid quality bentwood frame accent or dining chairs, after Charles Eames. In the manner of the Herman Miller DCW chair, the history on these Thonet chairs is unmatched. These chairs are quite rare and no longer produced.
Introduced by Thonet in 1945 as part of the Thonet Legacy Collection, these iconic bent plywood chairs has Thonet’s signature bentwood frame and legs with upholstered seats. This is the model with the solid wood back and upholstered seat, allowing for the most lumbar support. The design is classic versatile and contemporary. The original Thonet New York, NY marker’s labels are present.
These are very sturdy, iconic, comfortable chairs. They are also quite versatile, and offer excellent options for use as a desk, accent, dining or side chair.
Condition:
Excellent Vintage condition. The frames are gorgeous throughout, with little wear and tear. Wonderful patina on the frames that showcase stunning vintage beauty. We will polish them again before shipping them out to you. The upholstery is freshly redone on the seats, in a dark brown, nearly black high quality cow hide.
If you would be interested in a different color or fabric, upholstery would be quite easy on these chairs, and if you would like, our in house upholsterer can do this for you as well-- just inquire.
