A carved gemstone penguin figurine with diamond eyes.
The figure was likely carved at Idar Oberstein or in Imperial Russia by one of the gemstone/ hardstone carvers that worked in either the Russian workshops of Faberge or in the German workshops at Idar Oberstein.
It is carved from what we think is hyperstene and has diamond eyes.
Simply an elegant figurine!

Condition Details:
There are significant chips and losses to the feet and tail. Otherwise, there are fine and light surface scratches and scuffing here and there and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
