Large centerpiece dish, vittorio zecchin design (1878-1947) in murano blown glass. Italy, 40s origin italy period years 40 author vittorio zecchin (murano, 21 may 1878 - murano, 15 april 1947) was an italian artist. Son of a murano vetraio technician, luigi, graduated from the academy of fine arts in venice. Infolereer towards the late-nineteenth-century verist culture that meets here, feels rather attracted by the stimuli offered by the venetian biennials who attended by coming into contact with the symbolist research and with the environment of the viennese secession. In 1914 he presented to the xi biennale, along with the painter teodoro wolf ferrari, some glasses made at the barovier glass work. After 1918 it favors the applied arts. From 1921 to 1925 he is the artistic director of the company blown glasses muranesi cappellin venini & c. For which he creates classic pieces in light glass and with delicate colors; inspired by the pictorial style of the 16th century of the venetian painters, these vessels were the first examples of modern murano glass works. The experience with cappellin venini continues, over the years, during the 1930s, to devote himself to the creation of very refined windows, collaborating with different glassware: iron-toso (1930), a.ve.m. Art vetraria murano (1932-1933), salir (1932-1938), barovier seguso ferro (1933-1934) and brothers toso (1938). Always during the 1930s and in the last decade of his life, he also dedicated himself to teaching by collaborating with several venetian professional institutes including the "school for the vetraria industry" by murano (in 1934) and the school for glazing apprentices " abate zanetti "(since 1936), making use of the teaching activity of two brochures drawn up by himself, one on the history of glass, the other on the mosaic; and even the vocational school vendramin corner where takes care of tapestries and embroidery.
