Elegant and Unusual! This is an original 1949 French Mid-Century couture fashion design. It is from a Bordeaux atelier, Jean-Pierre Chansard a well-known couturier of the time from Bordeaux, France. (See copy of the atelier’s letterhead.) Note the dated signature on the upper left and the notations. Furthermore, the notations note that the design was named “ viollete" and was in done in gray wool. Note the intricate detailing in the design set against the black simple line silhouette. The drawing is illustrated in opaque white ink on black drawing paper. It is mounted on acid free black stock. It is unusual and striking! It measures 10 x 13.25 inches and comes matted in a white 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for framing. With framing it would be a showstopper in any home décor! Please see its companion design in our collection.
