The finish shows oxidation and wear in the form of scratches and scrapes. Age has caused the finish to "alligator" in some spots. The piece is essentially solid. Roll top does work, but easily shifts as right inside anchor is missing a screw, so must be opened carefully. Pidgeon holes are not cracked or broken. Legs solid with no play. Case slightly wobbly due to wood shrinkage. This originally was on wheels. The felt on desk surface appears to be original and shows much wear. Fretwork on back edge comes off as it fits in with pegs. It is not broken or cracked. Overall, very good original antique condition. less
