A superb darkroom lamp from a photographic studio. The lamp is also referred to as a ‘safelight’ as it provides illumination in the development of light-sensitive photographic images. Often dark red lighting is used in such studios as it emits low light energy that is unable to process the photographic film. The lamp has a blown glass shade that drops loosely into a brass coloured aluminum holder. The holder is shut simply with a clasp keeping the shade closed whilst suspended with a brass bulb holder on a vintage-style woven cord. Rewired, PAT tested, and verified. Bulb not included. English, circa 1930.
UK Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
