An antique fabric long table runner with gold and silver bullion adornment of a pelican feeding its chicks. Often this figure translates to the Trinity. Gold Bullion fringe is also on the front. The white main fabric appears to a damask. Measures 59” wide and 23 ½” high and 2 ½” fringe.
Fabric dates to late 1800’s. Great condition for it’s age. Slight green stain on far left trim.
Gold bullion consists of gold either beaten or worked into long strips and wound around a core (such as silk) and then this thread is used in weaving a very rich fabric, which is relatively stiff, heavy, and expensive.
