Copperplate engraving from 1810. This original botanical lithograph comes from the publication Curtis's Botanical Magazine the world’s longest running, continuously published botanical periodical featuring original colour illustrations of plants. Founded in 1787 it is still relevant in the 21st century as an international forum for botanists, horticulturists, plant ecologists and those with a special interest in botanical illustration. This piece is hand-colored and enhanced with gum Arabic. The lithograph are in very good condition with little foxing and toning.
