Mid-century Bay Area urban landscape watercolor of an industrial neighborhood in Oakland by California artist Polly Hughett Wagener (American, 1908–1992). This industrial scene of a driveway among buildings and barrels is brought to life with the use of a vibrant palette of colors.

A mid-century California artist active in the Bay area in the 1940's. Born Pauline Hughett, she married attorney Samuel Wagener in 1932 and was thereafter known as Polly Wagener. She began focusing on art after working for The Montclarion, a local Oakland newspaper founded in 1944.
