A Bohemian cut-glass vase in the "Alhambra" form, circa 1860, possibly Wilhelm Hoffman, Harrach Glassworks, Prague.
Very elaborate, with high quality arabesque gilting throughout.
Very good condition. No chips or cracks. Minor rubbing to gilting.
Measures: 16" high x 8" wide x 6" deep.
The Harrach glassworks were prolific producers and likely produced several variations of this form of vase. Lobmeyr is another, albeit less likely attribution. They were known to use the 'Alhambra' form in their designs, as illustrated in Waltraud Neuwirth, Lobmeyr, (Vienna, 1999), p. 152, pl. 373. The gilt decoration of the present lot bears similarities to pieces made by Lobmeyr in the 1870's, although at Lobmeyr the gilding was generally combined with engraving, which is not evident here.
Due to the item's age do not expect items to be in perfect condition and I may not describe every little scratch or spot. Please inquire if you have any doubts. Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Chairish Freight Delivery
