The blue original stopper indicates that it meant for storing sherry made from the grape/wine Palomino. However it will store and contain your whiskey, cognac or gin just fine as well. The stopper has a firm fit making it perfect for preserving most spirits and liquors. It was made by Orrefors in Sweden circa 1950-60s based upon a design from the 1930s.
