Fluted pilasters, fan carved raised … more Fabulous antique American mid 18th century walnut architectural corner cupboard from the Mid Atlantic region. Fluted pilasters, fan carved raised panels in the shaped doors, dental molding along the top and shaped interior shelves, and its large enough to make a statement anywhere. The face has been cleaned or refinished over the years and the interior paint is old but not original in my opinion. The rough sawn pine full length backboards are held in place with rose head nails as you expect to see. The left door is held closed by a simple hook and catch part of it can be seen in the last photo. The iron lock does work but I recommend not locking the doors just in case. There are a couple of small pieces of dentil molding missing on the upper left side as you look at the cupboard. There are some repairs here and there as well as some shrinkage cracks as can be seen in the photos. I have owned many corner cupboards over the years but this is the best by far. This would enhance any collection. This cupboard never had a rear foot because it would have been attached to the walls. I had my restorer make something to support the cupboard so it can be free standing. Its not pretty but it works, and it cant be seen! Cupboard is large 94 1/2" tall and 55 1/2" wide. It is roughly 25" deep and coming out of the corner you will need at least 36". Cupboard is 1 piece and heavy but magnificent! less
