A figure on horseback presides over a flock of sheep that roams through a verdant landscape, done in highly expressive brushstrokes and thick impasto, by Humboldt, California artist Alma B. Leamey (American, 20th Century). The artist's use of thick, textural layered earth-toned and green impasto creates areas of the landscape that are almost abstract. Exhibited Eureka Redwood Artists Association, "The Shed" artists group.
