These machines were made by George Kent of London. The knives were placed in the openings at the top of the rotary box. Inside the wooden rotary box, there are roller sharpeners. Also inside, the felt buffers and bristles would clean and polish the knives on both sides simultaneously, with the help of an abrasive powder that would be poured through a chute into the box.
