The children are … Read more Beautiful pewter inkwell monogrammed depicting two young children each looking at a frog placed on an inkwell.
The children are glued together, seemingly frightened by the attitude of the frogs staring at them, ready to pounce. The boy holds the stump he is sitting on tightly and the girl clings to her companion. They are barefoot and wear finely carved clothes.
The frogs reveal two inkwells made of glass containers in perfect condition.
This charming and poetic scene makes this delicately carved inkwell a rare object.
