A beautiful example of an American Empire Center Hall table. Octagonal white marble top, on veneered and gadrooned platform, supported on octagonal pedestal supported on terraced base. Mahogany veneer on pine. Wood stained a dark color.
Purchased by antique collector/owner from Neal Auction Company, New Orleans, LA 2009. Neal's curator believed that it had been deaccessioned by famed American furniture collector Ima Hogg of Houston's Bayou Bend house museum. This is an exceptional piece. No repairs to base. New Carrera marble top.
