The artist, a student of J. Feuchère, received honors and medals for his exceptional works.
This sculpture represents two young women elegantly dressed in vaporous antique dresses. Wearing ribbons and flowers holding back their wavy hair, they seem to walk slowly, barefoot, their drapery sliding over their feminine curves. One of the young women tilts her head back gracefully while the other holds her wrist and a garland of flowers falling from her hair. The two companions look at each other with gentleness.
This bronze is remarkable for its realism, especially for the quality of its details. In this ancient register, the artist knew how to transmit to us both the sensuality and the beauty of the female body.
