Ashtray designed by famous designer wilhelm wagenfeld in 1953.
a simple dish with an extremely elegant and functional form, which already today can be considered a timeless design icon.
the ashtray is made of glass and stainless steel (cromargan).
a small wmf stamp is engraved on the bottom.
the frame is tight and designed to prevent the glass pieces from falling out when stacked. The design, which draws rounded beauty while being rational, has a very modern look.
you can feel the philosophy of bauhaus.
wilhelm wagenfeld is an important german industrial designer and a former student of the bauhaus art school. some of his designs are still developed today. Professor wagenfeld believed that everyday objects should be "cheap enough for the worker and good enough for the rich man". This piece has an attribution mark,
