Profusely decorated en grisaille on a robin's egg blue ground. Inside are four more similarly decorated boxes set within a red silk interior. Measures 7 5/8" x 5 3/4" x 2 1/4" deep. The bright color makes a nice accent on a side table or desk. The design is similar to that found on toile de Jouy fabrics of the period. Age cracks on the top edge and on the bottom. Presents well.
