Exceptional … Read more Very large antique 19th century French Grand Tour bronze figure of an athlete mounted on original black slate base. Exceptional quality with pleasing old patina. Detailed casting includes musculature, hair, hands and feet and facial features - one of the best examples we've ever owned. Measures 20 3/4" tall overall including the base. The bronze figure stretches 18" wide horizontally from his outstretch hand to his back foot. From his head to his back foot measures 22.5" vertically not including the stone base. The slate base measures 16" x 6 1/4" x 2 7/8" tall. Good condition - chips to the slate base. Displays beautifully. Heavy weight. See less
