Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai qilins bitong, with a sky blue glazed exterior and a turquoise glazed lip, interior and inset circle within the partially unglazed base, all covered with very fine, small pattern, iron wire craquelure. A red, Da Ya Zhai mark with a red and white, Tian Di Yi Jia Chun medallion are glazed just below the rim. The brushpot is decorated with three, finely drawn qilins in finely shaded, umber and sepia glazes with gilt highlights amid finely painted, white and sepia glazed, leafy, herbal flowers with gold highlights, all in low relief. A red and white, Yong Qing Chan Chun, Guangxu mark is glazed to the inset base. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
