The widow of an Air Force General, she traveled the world visiting surviving manifestations of faith, awe and fear that have prompted man to art throughout the ages- from the pagan Greek and Roman religions of antiquity to the Christianity of medieval times to the primitive practices of Australian aborigines and the stark, dark mysteries of Easter island. It is this last subject matter that I feel this painting is part of… she painted a series called “Petra Series” which I feel this painting might be a part of.
