This hand knotted wool vintage Persian Shiraz rug features a diamond lozenge center medallion outlined with zigzag lines and flanked with a palmette finial at either end. The central medallion is surrounded with rosettes, palmettes, floral sprigs, hyacinth, organic shapes, and leafy tendrils all connected with twig-like angular vines. Each corner spandrel is filled with a stylized tulip and dotted with roundel rosettes on a creamy-beige backdrop and finished with a series of stripes composed of lines and zigzags. The vintage Shiraz rug is finished with a botanical floral border flanked with an inner rosette guard band. Rendered in variegated shades of brick red, rust, coffee, espresso, charcoal, taupe, tan, ecru, sand, verdigris, vermilion, ruby red, dark pink, coral, slate gray, and cerulean with other accent colors.
