Warm earth-tones with pastel purple … Read more Vintage Turkish Oushak Gallery Rug with Modern Bohemian Style, Extra-Long Hallway Runner 05'06 x 18'02. Warm earth-tones with pastel purple hues combined with floral elements of the Prairie School Movement collide in this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak gallery rug. Running the length of the Oushak gallery rug are five large-scale sawtooth hexagonal medallions patterned with earring motifs. A variety of flowers and traditional Anatolian symbols, including burdocks, rosettes, and hair band motifs are spread throughout the composition. Earrings, a common wedding present in Anatolia, represent marriage. Sawtooth and Burdock symbols are both used to protect against evil. It is finished with a rectilinear meander border flanked with an inner double meander guard border. Rendered in variegated shades of purple, tan, plum, ecru, lavender, sand, orange, coffee, espresso, taupe, mauve, greige, gray, rose, and pink with other accent colors. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool.
