Warm and inviting with Mid-Century Modern style, this hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Heriz rug features a large lobed center medallion anchored with palmette pendants at either end. A variety of geometric botanical motifs surround the medallion in an intricate arrangement of palmettes, serrated leaves, boteh, buds and blooms are spread across the abrashed red field. Stepped corner spandrels echo the designs of the medallion and field, while a line of boteh along the edges connect the spandrels. A classic turtle vine scroll main border and carnation meander secondary borders add contrast to the bolder, more graphic designs of the central area.
