This work is an impasto painting/weaving combination piece. The weaving is secured to the painting and incorporated into it.
Joie De Vivre is about just that.. explosive joy and an exuberant celebration of the senses. It was made in reaction to the pandemic and the trials of recent years. I made this piece to make myself smile.
Acrylic paint and wool yarn on stretched canvas.
