This lithograph comes from the long running French Art Magazine "Derriere le Miroir" published from 1946 until 1982 (253 issues). Published and edited by Aime Maeght, the French art dealer featured artists exhibited in his gallery, including: Joan Miro, Alexander Calder, Henri Matisse, and Vassily Kandinsky.
Born in Chatou, France in 1880, André Derain was a French painter, sculptor, theatrical designer, and print-maker who had a major role in the development of two of the most significant artistic movements of the early-20th century (Fauvism and Cubism).
