the lamp has an exceptionally flat design. This design actually consists entirely of a large louver, similar to those found on film lights. This gives the lamp a very technical look. This contrasts with the bold red color of the louvers. Here, the louver is not a decorative element but serves a highly functional purpose in directing the light and shielding the light source. This allows for the creation of dramatic lighting effects with sharp shadows.
a striking contrast exists in the color scheme between the louver and the lamp’s other elements—such as the socket, suspension mechanism, and canopy—which are finished in chrome. The canopy is elaborately crafted in the shape of a hemisphere. The light fixture itself hangs almost invisibly from a fine wire rope. The cable is routed through loops to relieve tension. Additionally, there is a movable cable guide on the rope.
