Portrait is a beautiful China ink on lithograph on monogrammed cardboard glued on ivory-colored cardboard, realized by the Italian artist Arnoldo Ciarrocchi. Hand-signed and numbered in pencil on the lower margin. Edition 56 of 100 prints. This contemporary artwork representing an abstract woman portrait in Excellent condition. Arnoldo Ciarrocchi (Civitanova Marche, 1916 - October 2004) was an Italian engraver and painter. Shortly before being called up for military service, he held his first exhibition in Rome. After the war Arnaldo Ciarrocchi resumed his activity dedicating himself to painting and engraving and drawing inspiration from the work of Honoré Daumier. In the 1946 exhibition at the Galleria del Cavallino in Venice he mainly presented engravings, while in the one at the Galleria del Secolo in Rome, which saw him in the company of Piero Sadun, Toti Scialoja and Giovanni Stradone, Cesare Brandi defined them as ''off street painters. ''. In 1950, after exhibiting a series of engravings for national chalcography, he won't the Engraving Award at the São Paulo Biennial in Brazil, and then began a cycle of works known as ''Network Prints'' which lasted until 1956. In 1955 he had meanwhile won't the first prize for etching at the Venice Biennale of engraving. In 1954 Arnaldo Ciarrocchi began to try his hand at watercolor and in 1956 he obtained the chair of engraving at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, succeeding Lino Bianchi Barriviera, and it was here that he invented and applied the technique of ''large sign prints'' . This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
