Hand-signed and titled Composizione in rosso on the back. Artwork exhibited on the occasion of the exhibition Vedo rosso, il rosso nell'arte contemporanea at Galleria Edieuropa, Rome 2004. Very good conditions. Frame included. It represents an abstract composition realized with red colorful brushstrokes. Marcello Avenali (Rome, 1912 - Rome, 1981) was an Italian artist and engraver. His works can be found in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome and in the contemporary art collection of the Pontifical Museums and Galleries, as well as in numerous private collections. Marcello Avenali (Roma, 1912 - Roma, 1981) is an Italian artist and engraver. After the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, followed the Experimental Cinematographic Center; in 1939 exhibited for the first time at Gallenga Gallery in Rome. He took part in the main national exhibitions of the fifties, also sending, in 1955, some works to the Exibition of Contemporary Italian Art of Johannesburg, and in 1958 he won the ''Viterbo'' and ''Villa S. Giovanni'' prizes. His language was initially oscillating between the expressive possibilities of postcubist figurativeness and those of a more determined abstraction. His works can be found in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome and in the contemporary art collection of the Pontifical Museums and Galleries, as well as in numerous private collections.
