Oversized hard cover with dust jacket. Textured linen boards with gold embossed lettering and decoration. 182 pages. Gorgeous plush full page black and white images of Greece, Italy, Istanbul, the Nile, the Mediterranean and other dreamy locales. Texts by Bernard Berenson, Jean Cocteau, Rose Macaulay, Stephen Spender, Freya Stark and an introduction by Herbert Read. Dust jacket has chips and tears, mainly at head and tail of spine, and one large tear on front that had been repaired. Back cover has separated from spine at bottom half but still attached. Plastic cover had been removed at one time leaving small areas of loss in black paper paste downs in front and back (see photos). Interior clean and tight. Very large, heavy publication. See less
