This is an original illustration of a female Allegory personifying the Catholic Church of Berlin. Under the engraved image: Eglise catholique à Berlin. Dimensions: cm 36 x 52,5. Image dimensions: cm 30 x 46,3. In good condtions, except for some signs of foxing on edges due by the time and minor scratches. Jean-Laurent Legeay (c. 1710 – after 1786) was a French Neoclassical architect who mostly worked in Germany. His artistic personality remained shadowy until recently, though he had numerous pupils among the avant-garde of neoclassicism. See less
