Theatrical sets is an original watercolor drawing on paper realized in the 19th Century by Tony Johannot (1803 – 1852). Good condition, minor cosmetic wear\. Not signed, but with annotations on the margins of the sheet. This artwork represents two designs for theatrical sets. Same size for both designs. Tony Johannot (1803 – 1852) was a famous French painter, illustrator and engraver. Among his most famous illustrations: those of the Histoire du roi de Bohême et de ses sept châteaux by Ch. Nodier (1830), by Don Quichotte (1836-37), by Paul et Virginie (1838), as well as all the novels by H. de Balzac. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
