Trivia: In the ‘Winter’ section, find a photo of Hannes Schroll (1909-1985), Austrian-born alpine ski champion. Schroll won over 100 international ski title during the 1930s. In 1935 he represented Austria in the 1st US National Alpine Championships at Mt. Rainier, WA. He dominated the event in many categories and was a sensation loudly yodeling while downhill skiing. He later became the Ski School Director at Yosemite’s Badger Pass. He left Yosemite, and with financial backing from friend Walt Disney, founded the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort in Northern California (the tallest peak was named Mt. Disney), See less
