Two women are spinning and another figure is shearing a sheep; a flock moves around them. The stylized figures, dense floral background and rich colors refer to the medieval tradition of tapestries. The composition is completed by a small coat of arms at the top. Manufacture Robert Four was founded by Robert Four in 1952. In 1969, he took over the Simone André workshop and moved it to Aubusson, a French town with a long tradition of tapestry production. The company follows local craftsmanship and focuses on both classic and contemporary designs. The Aubusson tapestry tradition was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.
