An elegant and finely crafted vintage jewelry box, perfect for storing treasured accessories or adding a touch of Asian antiquity to a dressing table or display shelf.
The box is constructed from dense, dark Zitan wood (purple sandalwood), exhibiting a rich, deep brown-black grain. The top is inset with a large, exquisitely carved oval white jade plaque. The jade features an intricate openwork (reticulated) design depicting a central floral bloom surrounded by scrolling foliage and leaves, showcasing a smooth, milky translucence.
The corners of the lid and the base are reinforced with decorative brass mounts featuring traditional scrolling motifs, adding a warm metallic contrast to the dark wood. The front of the box is fitted with a vintage-style brass latch and clasp.
