Found in France, this classic Louis XVI-style commode, or chest of drawers, dates from the 1870s–1890s. Made of mahogany, this chest has three functional drawers with dovetail construction, brass hardware and trim. Escutcheons and what appear to be functional locks are present, but no key was found with the piece. The turned legs feature brass trim and brass-capped feet. The white marble top features gray veining and is trimmed with a reticulated brass gallery.
Unknown maker. Very good antique condition with minor, scattered age-related surface wear.
