The figures are united across an integral ground base textured to resemble rough, trampled turf. The sportsman wears a traditional flat cap, collared jacket, breeches, and tall field boots, carrying a shotgun resting comfortably over his right shoulder and a game or cartridge bag slung across his body. Walking in close pursuit are two retriever-type dogs, sculpted with lively, alert expressions and textured coats. One dog bounds slightly ahead with its head raised towards the master, while the trailing hound maintains a focused forward posture. The bronze casting exhibits crisp surface tooling throughout, highlighting fabric folds in the heavy outerwear, the strap of the bag, and anatomical definition across the dogs' flanks and muscular limbs. Towards the edge of the irregular terrain base, the bronze bears the impressed monogram mark for British sculptor Michael Simpson alongside a circular maker's emblem. It is cleanly hand-stamped with the limited edition issue number 63/200, denoting its placement within the restricted casting run. The naturalistic bronze base provides a stable, self-supporting platform without requiring a separate wooden plinth. The sculpture stands approximately 16 cm high with an overall length of 21 cm, probably dating to the late 20th or early 21st century.
