A bold, fluid slip-trailed band in off-white encircles the upper shoulder in an undulating chevron motif, accented directly beneath by a steady horizontal ring where the pale glaze softens against the darker ground. The ceramic font is mounted with a classic double-wick brass duplex burner, equipped with twin geared thumb-wheels stamped 'Duplex Made in England' alongside an extinguisher lever. Crowned with a pierced brass gallery, the fitting securely holds a clear glass chimney of traditional baluster form, bringing the total assembled height to approximately 43 cm. Produced during the 1970s at Appin Pottery in Argyll, Scotland, the lamp is the work of potters Joe and Trudi Finch. The unglazed underside displays the natural, coarse texture of the fired buff stoneware clay and bears the pottery’s characteristic impressed seal mark of stylized fir trees. Designed for domestic lighting, the heavy ceramic globe functions as a stable paraffin reservoir, offering solid counterbalance to the tall glass flue. The burner collar is firmly seated into the neck, retaining twin woven flat wicks ready inside the brass carriage. Dimensions and details: The lamp stands 43 cm tall from the flat ceramic base to the top rim of the glass chimney. The ceramic font features an impressed fir trees pottery mark on the unglazed foot, with all brass components and glassware complete.
