The state of preservation is very good. The artwork represents a dynamic drawing through its confident and thick strokes, expressed by brownish and orangish colors which made a sense of fire and light in the scenery of a city with its intense black building and its smoky sky, indicating a sign of hope and life in darkness. Rene Audebes (1921 - 1993), Painter and cartoonist, participated in group exhibitions in France and abroad but is in Paris where he sets up his solo exhibitions: in 1980 at the Jean - Pierre Lavignes Gallery, in 1990 and 1992 at the Lavignes Bastille Gallery. He worked in the sketch shop of the Academy and studied at the Metzinger Academy where he also worked as an assistant. In 1953 he became a professor at the Frochot Academy. Solo exhibitions: in 1980 at the Jean - Pierre Lavignes Gallery, in 1990 and 1992 at the Lavignes Bastille Gallery. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
