Numbered on the lower left corner in pencil: 51/75 (there was also a sub edition of 10 specimens, numbered in roman numbers. Excellent conditions, only a very small color stain lower left. Karel Appel (Amsterdam, 1923) is one of the most important exponent of European Expressionism. In 1948 he founded Co.Br.A movement with Corneille, Jorn, Constant and Alechinsky; they gave life to an interesting Informal art movement in North-Europe characterized by the use of violent colours, the abstract compositions and the retrieval of Scandinavian traditions. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
