The chair was designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950 and produced by Herman Miller in the U.S. around 1960. Its shell seat is a fiberglass mold, reinforced with polyester resin, mounted on a steel X‑base with wood dowel legs.
This fiberglass construction was part of the Eames’ broader “plastic chairs” series, which used Zenaloy — a polyester reinforced with fiberglass. Brand: Herman Miller. Dimensions (in): 18W x 18D x 33H.
