Charming vintage 1950s Italian majolica ceramic sculpture depicting a mother monkey tenderly embracing her young. Beautifully modeled with expressive faces, intricate fur detailing, and a warm palette of golden ochre, cream, and deep brown glazes.
The affectionate composition captures a wonderful sense of personality and movement, while the richly textured surface lends the piece a distinctive sculptural presence. A delightful example of mid-century Italian decorative ceramics with a playful Hollywood Regency sensibility.
