This charming pair of vintage wall sconces features cylindrical shades made of decorative lace with a delicate floral pattern, arranged in regular pleats. The fabric has been stiffened from the inside to help the shades retain their shape. The natural, light tone of the material and its subtle texture give the lamps a light, delicate appearance. Original-style pull-cord switches add an authentic detail characteristic of lighting from this period.
The lace shades diffuse the light beautifully, creating a warm glow on the wall while highlighting the intricate texture of the fabric. These sconces pair well with natural wood, linen, ceramics and glass. They would complement mid-century modern and vintage interiors, as well as eclectic, retro spaces inspired by the aesthetics of the 1950s.
The pair would look lovely on either side of a bed, beside a mirror or in a living room, providing soft, atmospheric lighting.
The sconces are unused and have been preserved in very good condition, a rare advantage for vintage lighting from the 1950s. Their delicate lace shades and authentic period details make them a distinctive addition to a vintage interior. This piece has an attribution mark,
